Our client is currently seeking a Control Systems Engineer who will support both of their sites operating sites the South East. The successful candidate will deal with escalated troubleshooting and improvement of the site control systems and network. Drive through upgrades such as alarm management, manufacturing cyber security, and improved standards for graphics and reporting. The primary focus of this role is to work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Process Safety to trouble-shoot issues and develop and implement process control and network improvement strategies across both sites.
Provide automation and process control support, configuration, and ongoing support for operations at the two production plantsDevelop and implement long range plans and standards for process control improvementsEvaluates risks and classifies events in compliance with PSM standardsDevelops disaster recovery plans for control systems in line with business continuity targetsGuide and train area personnel on process control methodology to assist process control improvement effortsSupport process control related activities of site capital projectsProvide process control/PLC and start-up support of facilities in order to meet production schedules and business needsProvide assistance to area Engineers to troubleshoot process control problemsDevelops/reviews/maintains/update related documentation, files, procedures, databases, drawings and schematics in order to ensure integrity of unit instrument and process control technologiesImplement Alarm management for the sites, in line with EEMUA 191Support and Maintain Site Data HistorianManage the control system support contractsImplement recognised standards with regards safety related control functionsSupport Operations and the Engineering team with escalated breakdowns
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will have:
Engineering degree or equivalent in Electrical, Control or InstrumentationExtensive industrial work experience ideally within a chemical industryDemonstrated ability to program PLC (Allen Bradley, Omron)Experience with SCADA packages preferred is WonderwareDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation & Process ControlDemonstrated ability to work with computer applications including Word, PowerPoint and ExcelDemonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish objectivesCreative thinking and detail-oriented personalitySkilled and confident communicator who can clearly present ideas and solutions
