I have worked in the engineering and technical recruitment industry since 1997, I suppose it serves me right for getting a degree in History that I didn't really know what to do with! I have worked on virtually every rung of the ladder in the industry, from Trainee Recruitment Consultant to Recruitment Manager, Director, and ultimately Regional Director of a large corporate, managing a multi-office region generating over £100m in annual sales.
As a recruiter, I have spent much of my time specialising within the chemical engineering sector and have supplied chemical engineers to all major industries including oil & gas, the life sciences, chemical manufacturing, water treatment, nuclear and food & beverage. Whilst most recruiters tend to gravitate towards either permanent staff or temporary/contract recruitment, I have always done both in equal measure and indeed much of my time these days is spent working very closely with clients on retained executive search assignments where I headhunt for particularly senior or niche roles.
Whilst I'd consider myself to be one of the market's leading experts in chemical engineering recruitment, I have also built up extensive experience in other areas such as mechanical engineering, project engineering and project management, quality and validation and a variety of manufacturing and production disciplines too. I recruit at all levels of industry, from graduates up to management and directorship. Understanding my market place extremely well and the people that occupy it; being consultative, not pushy, and offering well balanced, considered advice and, most importantly, being able to consistently and reliably deliver have been key to my success.
